By 1926, the Yankees, under Jake Ruppert, had yet to find all the components to bring their franchise to the full radiance of dynastic supremacy. Ruth, to be sure, was the central engine. He, with the youngster Gehrig and an able mound staff, marched to a pennant that season, but fell to the Cardinals in the World Series. With a formidable core of talent, these '26 Yankees were yet reliant on a roster characterized by aging journeymen and several marginal transcients. Nonetheless, the collegiality of the squad moved them to ink their signatures to this OAL (Johnson) ball. The medium is heavily shellacked and now qualified by moderate-to-heavy toning. We're able to identify all 30 of these scribers, and we preface their detailing to note that five of them were Yankees that season only. Babe Ruth ("4") appears on the sweet spot. On the other panels, we discover the autographs as follows...

WEST PANEL: Meusel, Collins, Skiff, Bengough, GEHRIG ("1-2"), Gazella.

EAST PANEL: Dugan, Merkle, Pennock, SHOCKER ("2-3"), Paschal and Carlisle.

NORTH PANEL: Adams, LAZZERI, Koenig, Thomas, Severeid, Shawkey, Combs, O'Leary.

SOUTH PANEL: Jones, Ruether, McQuaid, Beall, LAZZERI (2nd sig), Brakton, Hoyt, Ward, and Huggins (Manager).

Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
