Despite his inarguable reign as the king of baseball, and several of his cards being released prior, the 1933 R319 Goudey cards are Babe Ruth's only officially recognized rookie cards - and there were four of them, all featuring a different close-up image of Ruth. Strikingly similar to their American counterparts, the Goudey World Wide Gum cards were only distributed in Canada, with most of them being printed with a bilingual French-English back - making them far more rare. Offered here is one such of those cards from the Sultan of Swat, the 1933 World Wide Gum Canadian Goudey #93 card featuring a close-up of Ruth appropriately holding his beloved bat, with both a French and an English description on the verso. The card has been encapsulated & graded a VG 3 by the experts at PSA.
