Excellent Vida gamer worn while on historic 1973 A's pitching staff - Last staff to feature three 20-Game Winners in a single season!

Originating from the collection of famed hobbyist Dick Dobbins, this World Championship season jersey saw action on the mound with the number seven man in Cy Young voting that season, Vida Blue. Almost all Oakland Athletic jerseys were sent down to the minor leagues following the World Series victory over the New York Mets, at which point names and logos were removed and replaced. Dobbins expertly restored this jersey to its original state, replacing the original "A's" over the heart and "Vida" on back. The number "14," signed in perfect blue sharpie by Blue, is all-original. The outline of the minor leagues "Toro" logo is still visible, as are faint remnants of the original name on back. Proper labeling on the interior front tail offers a "McAuliffe Uniform Corp" tag at the center of "1973" and "42" identifiers. Nice wear is evident from the jersey's two tours of duty but it presents perfectly and, given the fact that unrestored Blue jerseys from this season are impossible, it reigns as the finest example from this star pitcher's Championship season ever to reach the auction block. Accompanied by dual Letters of Authenticity from game used equipment authority Lou Lampson and James Spence Authentication (JSA).
