Charley Finley bucked the trend when he adopted three styles of jerseys in the 1970's. The home white was joined by green and yellow alternate knits. The finest home run hitter of his time, Reggie Jackson could turn around a game with one swing of his mighty bat. While a majority of Mr. October's at-bats ended in feast or famine, he was certainly one of the finest home run hitters baseball has encountered. Worn the season Jackson tied George Scott atop the American League home run leaderboard is this "McAuliffe [size] 44" yellow alternate. While the size is a bit big for Jackson, it is acceptable as he wore a "[size] 44" in subsequent seasons. The awe-inspiring knit top features moderate use with "A's" over the heart and "Jackson 9" on back. The V-neck front has faded somewhat from afternoon contests and launderings. Three labels appear in the tail's front interior: "1975," "McAuliffe," washing instructions and size. Capping off this game relic is a bold black felt tip marker autograph from Jackson along the front side. Impressive! We guarantee this lot to pass MEARS, Grey Flannel or any other recognized game used memorabilia authority.
