During the 1960's, the race to land the first man on the moon was front and foremost in the minds of the American and Russian governments. While each space program had their fair share of setbacks, the United States space program took its biggest step at 4:18 p.m. ET, on July 20, 1969. In the area of the moon known as "The Sea of Tranquility" the Apollo lunar lander touched down on the surface of the moon. Fans standing for the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium cheered, while across the ocean in London, England the broadcasters announce, "The American's have done it!" That moment defined the end of the turbulent 1960's as America emerged as the winner in the race to the surface of the moon. Offered here is an extraordinary piece of Apollo XI memorabilia in this official RED STAMP NASA 8" x 10" photograph signed by the entire crew, Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins & Buzz Aldrin in bold felt tip marker. It's worth noting that "Red Number" NASA photographs rarely surface as they represent the original chromogenic color prints direct from NASA, complete with ‘NASA’ and the mission name or number stamped in the margin in red ink. Easily one of the most recognizable crew images of not only Apollo XI but any Space exploration can be had with this exclusive offering. Overall in fine condition with minor discoloration, handling wear to the edges & surface impressions. A small circular spot is present over the "B" in Buzz Aldrin's signature, not affecting it's strength or overall exceptional appearance. Authenticated by PSA/DNA & James Spence Authentication (JSA).
