In 1927, Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs, breaking his own record of 59 set in 1921. Lou Gehrig's 47 was the second most in the Major Leagues. Ruth had established an unimaginable long-ball standard and, outdoing that, Gehrig was named the league's Most Valuable Player. Their team lauded as the game's most dominant ever--a popular opinion that remains prevalent to this day. The offensive onslaught seen from Ruth & Gehrig was unlike anything Major League Baseball has ever seen, and has seen since that day. Offered here is an official National League baseball, dating a year after that historic 1927 season for the Yankees, signed & quoted on the sweet spot by Babe Ruth with Lou Gehrig on the side panel, displaying together. Overall the sphere remains in good condition with even toning & multiple scuffing from possible game use. Authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA) with a full letter of authenticity.
