When you have a near 20 year career in the Majors, any year labeled as possibly your best would be special, but if you had the career of Derek Jeter that claim would not only make that year special, but historic. For ,at that time, a two time World Series champion 25 year old, Jeter was just hitting his prime following his magical rookie-era years, but 1999 was different as the Yankees were now expected to not only compete, but win the title every year. Captain Clutch would deliver New York their third title in four years in 1999, pushing the pressure aside & dominating the Braves for the title of "Team of the Decade." During 1999 Jeter would have career highs in hits, home runs, triples, walks, batting average, on base percentage, slugging, runs & runs batted in, making it without question his best year at the plate. This offering, pounded with use, undoubtedly added to many of those stats judging by the almost excessive Budig OAL baseball stampings present on this 34" 31.8 ounce ash p72 Louisville Slugger Derek Jeter baseball bat, signed by the legend c. 1999 in bold silver felt tip marker. With incredible grain swelling, multiple ink transfers, cleat marks & player identifiers this haloed piece of lumber received a near impossible perfect GU 10 grading from the experts at PSA/DNA, a feat that even some later bats with Derek Jeter letter's of authenticity don't achieve for one reason or another. A perfect grade, from the Captains best year, a championship year at that, this offering serves as easily the finest Derek Jeter gamer we have ever had pass through these doors and should be a centerpiece for any serious Jeter/Yankee collector. Authenticated & graded a perfect GU 10 by PSA/DNA.
