Ernest Hemingway was one of the finest novelists of the 20th Century and author of such classics as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell To Arms, For Whom The Bell Tolls and perhaps his most famous work, The Old Man and the Sea. That latter novel would win the 1953 Pulitzer Prize for fiction and was also largely responsible for Hemingway receiving the Nobel Prize for literature in 1954. This June 29, 1950 2.75" x 6.5" document, drawn for $100.00 on The First National Bank of Boston, is executed entirely in Papa's hand and signed on the bottom, "Ernest M. Hemingway." The check exhibits EX display properties with no fold lines, but standard bank cancellations which pass through his signature and related handwriting. A strong and desirable artifact from the author of A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
