While known for his pin-point accuracy on the mound, The Mad Dog would have to take his far share of hacks on the other side of the rubber being in the National League. Early in his rookie season, though, he was not prepared with lumber of his own. Cue to Greg Maddux turning to his teammate Shawon Dunston for help, borrowing this Louisville Slugger L157 for his first games. Offered here is possibly the first bat Maddux ever used during his career, with Dunston's facsimile signature blacked out and Maddux's own signature applied in black felt tip marker. He also blacked out Dunston's jersey number on the knob. Weighin in at 34" and 30 oz, the bat shows heavy use, with ball marks and ink transfers coating the barrel, as well as a cracked handle. The bat is accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA, with the bat grading a GU 8!
