Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1951, Jimmie Foxx, versatile and volatile, played primarily for the Philadelphia A's and Boston Red Sox. The Double X caught, played 1st, 3rd, and outfield during his 18 big-time seasons. Originally a catcher, COnnie Mack needed a first baseman more than a backstop, so Jimmie became a first base star. He is also soundly established as a front row ball walloper of the majors. A big league, lifetime fielding average of .990 and batting average of .345 and a World Series record of .994 on defense and .344 on offense - Foxx's plaque in the Hall of Fame was an honor well deserved and nationally approved. Exceptional 4.5" x 6.5" signed black & white newspaper photo of Jimmie "The Beast" Foxx. Signed by Foxx in blue ink up the leg of his uniform. Overall in fine condition with the photo being mounted to a larger sheet of beige construction paper. Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
