Original 18.5" x 22.5" partly printed document signed as President on May 23, 1963 by John F. Kennedy in striking bold black ink. Here Kennedy appointed J. Curtis Counts of California as "a Member of the National Labor-Management Panel for a term of two years." Counts went onto have a long career as a labor mediator, ultimately becoming the sixth Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, appointed by President Richard Nixon. This document is signed at the conclusion by President Kennedy and counter signed by Acting Secretary of State George W. Ball. Overall in fine condition with a beautifully toned hue and an impressive intact paper seal. The signature at the bottom is incredibly bold. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
