Ken Griffey, Jr. was known for his smooth swing and his infectious smile. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he was never embroiled in the steroid controversy so common in the 1990s and early 2000s. Because of this, Griffey's professional model baseball bats are among the most desirable bats of the post-1980 era. The offered Louisville Slugger C271 model bat was used during his time with the Seattle Mariners with a labeling period of 1991-1994. The one key characteristic that remains consistent through Griffey's career of bats is the application of a unique taping method along the handles of his bats in a crisscross pattern. This distinct taping acts as almost a fingerprint for Griffey gamers. Multiple ball marks and stitch impressions penetrate the entirety of the barrel from repeated contact. Cleat marks bat rack streaks add further characteristics to gem. The bat shows outstanding use, with a slight handle crack that has been repaired. The bat is accompanied by a letter from former Olympian Peter Shmock, who was the strength and conditioning coach for the Mariners at this time. He obtained the bat during his tenure. This bat is so irrefutably used by The Kid that PSA/DNA has given the bat a grade of GU 9.5, with .5 points being knocked off only due to the repaired crack! Accompanied by a full Letter of Grading & Authenticity, as well as the Letter of Provenance from Shmock.
