The Sex Pistols initiated the punk movement in the United Kingdom and are known as one of the most influential acts in the history of popular music. With public appearances that often ended in mayhem, the band provoked controversies that garnered a significant amount of publicity. Subjects addressed in their frequently obscene lyrics included consumerism, abortion, violence, apathy, anarchy, and fascism. When they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, the four surviving memories refused to attend the ceremony, calling the museum "a piss stain". Their most famous lineup - that of Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook - lasted only a year before Rotten left and spurned a break-up. Just over a year after that, Sid Vicious died of a heroin overdose, and any hopes of the four rebels (with many causes) reuniting were dashed. Because of the brief and tumultuous time in which these four were together, any item signed by all four is exceedingly rare. Offered here is one such piece, a 4.5" x 5.75" album page signed by all four of the 1977 iteration of the Sex Pistols - Rotten, Vicious, Jones, and Cook - in blue ballpoint pen. The page is in fine condition with some creasing and handling wear. Vicious' autograph has been cut from another piece and affixed to the larger album page, but the rarity of his autograph is such that this group signed display is highly desirable! Authenticated & encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
