Wonderful Zappa display headline by a stage-used drumhead fully and boldly signed in black felt tip marker by Frank Zappa and his Band including: Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Ed Mann, Tommy Mars, Bobby Martin, Chad Wackerman, and Ray White. The impressive Plexiglass frame measures 3” thick and is 51” x 37.5.”
Consignor notes that, “On Friday, November 27th, 1981, I was lucky enough to have a musician friend who was a “roady” for Frank Zappa’s “You Are What You Is” concert tour. He was the rhythm section handler - set up and tuning bass and drum equipment. I was in college at the University of Illinois at the time and the band was playing that night on campus. My friend invited me to hang with him and help “roady” for the band that whole day and see the show that night. I got to hang with the whole band (except Frank who only shows right before the band goes on) and had a blast.
For my services my friend gave me his roady tour jacket (he told me only 13 were made for the tour) and had the band - including Frank - sign the used drum skin from that night. He gave me Frank’s used guitar pick and also a set of the used drum sticks (actually two pairs). Accompanied by a letter of provenance. An incredible and uber-rare Zappa stage-used and autographed presentation.
