Mark McGwire was still the talk of baseball in 2001. The homer happy redhead was pounding the ball out of the ballpark on a regular basis. In only 97 games, McGwire connected on 29 long balls. This Adirondack bat (34.5” and 32.8 ounces) was attributed to use by Big Mac in 2001--his final year in Major League Baseball. Blue transfer marks are located on the left barrel while black rack marks appear on the top of the barrel. A healthy layering of pine tar is evident on the barrel and runs to the trademark. “MAC 25” is stamped on the knob for identification purposes, with "McGwire 33" is written to signify the bat's weight. The uncracked stick features a James SPence Authentication sticker on the barrel end to certify the autograph on the barrel, which is signed and dated by Big Mac in blacfk felt tip marker. COA from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
