An incredibly rare fully signed Beatles merchandising poster. John Lennon and Paul McCartney have signed in blue ballpoint pen, George Harrison and Ringo Starr have signed in black ballpoint pen. Posters signed by The Beatles are extremely hard come by but posters signed by The Beatles show the group performing live are almost impossible to find. The autographs were obtained by a competition winner at the Astoria, Finsbury Park, London (England) between December 24th and 31st 1963 when the group were performing at ‘The Beatles Christmas Show’ concert residency. All signatures are large and impressive, with Lennon’s signature measuring 3 inches wide. Paul McCartney has signed across his body, the signature is very clear and measures 5.5 inches wide. George has signed at the bottom of his image, and the signature is 3.1 inches wide. Ringo Starr’s signature is very clear and is 3.75 inches wide. The poster comes with a letter from the original recipient that reads, “In 1963 my sister entered a competition in a music paper called Melody Maker. The prize was two tickets to see the Beatles live in concert and meet them backstage after the show. They were playing at the Astoria in London. They were doing their Christmas Shows there. That is how my sister obtained these autographs.” The poster measures 17.25” inches 22”. The poster does show some moderate handling wear, however it is the ideal candidate for framing as it would certainly be the centerpiece of virtually every collection! Accompanied by full Letters of Authenticity from music autograph authorities Roger Epperson/REAL Authentication and Paul Wane/Tracks UK.
