C. 1977 signed album by former Beatles legend, George Harrison in ballpoint. The album was originally obtained at a bar where Harrison had been drinking, most likely resulting in the interesting sketch. The letter of providence reads as such: ‘To whom it may concern. My dad was Police Sergeant John Shandan at Henley-On-Thames for a number of years, during that time he became good friends with Peter, George Harrisons brother. My dad used to drink at The Row Barge with Peter. Occasionally George would accompany them as his house was approximately 100 yards from the pub. The Row Barge is on West Street, Henley and is owned by Brake Spear Brewery. At one point George tried to buy it but the Brewery would not sell. One evening, shortly after the release of Georges album ‘The Best Of George Harrison’, George, Peter and my dad were having a drink in the Row Barge. My dad had taken a copy of the album to the pub and asked George to sign it for me. George who had had a few drinks said he disliked the picture on the album cover. He took a biro and coloured in the eyes blue, then drew a moustache. He then decided he disliked the moustache and tried to scratch it off with his fingernail. Overall in fine condition with minor water damage to the reverse. Full letter of authenticity from Tracks Unlimited, Letter of Providence & we guarantee this lot to pass PSA/DNA or JSA authentication, and full certification can be arranged for an additional fee (please contact us for further details).
