The 18th President of the United States and Civil War hero. Grant led the Union Army to victory over the Confederate forces led by Robert E. Lee, leading to Lee’s (and the South’s) surrender at Appomattox. Two-page 5” x 8” (folded) ALS dated “June 10th 184-” to L.C. Murray, President of U. S. National Bank of NY, referencing the purchase of some stock being held as collateral against a personal loan. Signed at the conclusion with a Nm to Mint ink signature. Moderate to heavy handling wear including folds, creases, tack hole top left, scrapbook residue on the back. Good condition. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
