Scarce typed signed letter as president, one page, 7" x 8.75", White House letterhead, February 18, 1937. Letter to a former Senator Elmer Thomas. Reads in full: “I was glad to have your letter of February ninth, relative to the filling of the vacancy in the Court of the Tenth Judicial Circuit. I do want to assure you that your statements on behalf of Judge Robert L. Williams, whom you endorse for this post, will have my earnest consideration at the proper time. ” Overall in fine condition with minor surface impressions, a horizontal fold & a faint arid pencil mark to the bottom right of the letter.
