Offered here is a 2.5" x 4" UK Beatles Fan Club membership card signed very nicely by all four of the members of the band in blue ballpoint pens. The autographs were obtained backstage at the Carlton Theatre, Kirkcaldy, Scotland on October 6th, 1963. The Beatles played two shows at the venue to a mere 1500 fans at each performance. The autographs originally came with a letter (not included in this lot) from the son of Thomas Waddell, for whom the card was originally signed, that read "With regards to the Beatles autographs my father won a competition in a daily paper, either the Daily Express or the National newspaper to meet the Beatles at a venue in Scotland. He met them in their dressing room in Kirkcaldy and got them to sign his membership card as it was the only piece he had on him at the time. He thinks it was 1963. Whilst meeting the Beatles my dad has great fond memories of it and said they were just like normal lads off the street and not celebrities. My father recalls them laughing and joking around and throwing jelly babies at each other. The competition in the paper was to write a poem or say why you would like to meet them." Beatles Fan Club membership cards signed by the band are exceedingly rare. It has some aging and handling, but it is in great shape and intact. The signatures are beautifuly with no fading, etc. The fan's name and signature are also on the card and the Beatles did a great job of avoiding his information while signing their best. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. Also accompanied by letters of authenticity from Tracks Ltd., Perry Cox, and Frank Caiazzo.
