Rocky Marciano, born Rocco Marchegiano, is perhaps the most well-known heavyweight boxing champion in history, with his legendary status today resting on the fact that he remains the only heavyweight champion ever to retire undefeated. Marciano won the heavyweight title from Jersey Joe Walcott in 1952, and successfully defended that title six times before retiring in 1955 with a record of 49-0 (43 by knock out). Unfortunately, Marciano died tragically, at the age of 46, in a plane crash in 1969. Offered is an exceptionally rare 8" x 10" sepia photograph of Marciano in a suit. The photo is nicely signed and inscribed in ballpoint pen, "To Tommy, Rocky Marciano." Signed photos of Marciano are of the utmost rarity! Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
