Well known high-status friends, Walt Disney & Ronald Reagan's relationship dates back to Reagan's silver screen days, with the two originally crossing paths at an unusual 1947 conference with the House Un-American Activities Committee “investigation” into Communist infiltration of the film industry. Both Disney & Reagan would testify that day while the next ten members due to the stand would refuse & be thrown in jail. Their relationship would grow from there, as a young Reagan would be chosen as the emcee for the historic Disneyland opening ins 1955 (seen below w/ Disney). With their paths crossing for only a brief period, dual signed items such as this are not only unusual, but a rather interesting view into the past of the to-be President Reagan & business and entertainment mogul Disney. The connection between the two has been relived by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library as of 2012 with an impressive Walt Disney exhibit consisting of over 12,000 square feet of items from Disney. Eluding display in that exhibit is this ultra-rare dual signed silver dollar certificate signed by Ronald Reagan & Walt Disney, with Reagan signing both the front & back of the bill. Overall in fine condition with multiple creases & an arid black marking crossing through the T in Walt's signature. Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
