Pop artists Andy Warhol and Keith Haring have each signed this 28 X 40 original poster co-designed by these art icons to promote the “7th Montreux-Detroit Jazz Festival, Aug. 27th-Sept. 1, 1986.” Warhol has signed beneath his silk screen signature and Haring on the right side above his printed signature along with his added drawing of “The Radiant Baby,” his iconic art symbol used extensively throughout his art which often explored concepts of birth, death, sexuality and war. Haring, whose strong, simple-lined artwork took him from creating New York City street graffiti to socially conscious murals all over the world while some of Warhol's artwork and designs are the most enduring ever created, including the Campbell Soup Can, the Brillo pad box and celebrity art of Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. Sharing the same social circles, not only did Warhol and Haring became celebrated friends; Warhol became the theme of several or Haring’s pieces including “Andy Mouse.” Despite their friendship it is rare to have such statured artists collaborate on an artwork such as this. Haring died in 1990, while Warhol would pass in early 1987, just six months after this festival. Extremely desirable piece and one of the very few signed by both. Authenticated by PSA/DNA with a full letter of authenticity.
