Anything signed by the 23rd President is a rare commodity on the market, and other than the occasional signed check, this is the first we have had the pleasure of offering in our auction! Offered here is a rare large format portrait photograph signed by Benjamin Harrison in black steel tip pen. Archivally double-cloth-matted and framed, there is some toning to the edges of the photo from previous display and a large repaired chip to the top edge of the mount, otherwise the photo is in fine condition; all existing imperfections have since been expertly been matted out, making for a highly presentable Presidential showpiece. Three weeks after Harrison was elected president in November 1888, the Washington Post reported that local photographer George Prince, whose studio was on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 11th Street, had gone to Indianapolis and made a large photograph of General Harrison. This photo is displayed here! The signature is impeccable - you won't see another piece like this! Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Steve Grad/Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
