Despite Ted Williams' rookie year being 1948, this is the first Bowman card to feature the Splendid Splinter. In 1950, Bowman decided to add this legendary slugger to the set after two years of absence. The timing couldn't have been better as Bowman enhanced its design with a full-color presentation. Ted Williams is shown finishing his majestic swing, looking skyward. That season, Williams would hit .317 with 28 home runs and 97 RBI. While that doesn't sound typical for Williams, keep in mind that he did that in just 89 games! This card has been signed by Williams in blue felt tip marker. Card exhibits some toning, handling wear, and paper loss to the reverse, but is in overall fine condition. Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
