Collins was a member of the famed Philadelphia A’s “$100,000 Infield” of the early 1910s With the A’s, Collins won three World Series championships (1910, 1911, 1913) and was the 1914 American League MVP Award winner. He would win another Series title with the Chicago White Sox in 1917 and was also a member of the infamous 1919 Chicago Black Sox team that threw the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds. He led the American League in runs scored three times and in stolen bases four times and he would finish his career with 3,315 hits, 1,821 runs scored, 741 stolen bases, and a .333 batting average. Presented is an 8 ½” x 11” one-page Wellsville Baseball Club, Inc., Stockholders Proxy document dated January 6, 1948 appointing one R.J. Searle, Jr. to vote upon the stock owned by them as their proxy at the annual stockholder’s meeting. The document is signed by Collins in black fountain pen with a Nm/Mint signature. It is also signed by a witness and exhibits minor age toning and wear, three punch holes for storage on the left side. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
