This signed lithograph pays tribute to one of the most famous American jazz singers and bandleaders, Cab Calloway. He was a pioneer in the style of "scat" singing, and led one of the most popular big bands from the early 1930s through the late '40s. In 1931, he recorded his most famous tune, "Minnie the Moocher." The Calloway classic appeared in the Betty Boop animated shorts, Minnie the Moocher. In his later career, Calloway became a popular actor, appearing in a number of films and stage productions. The offered 16" x 20" litho is by artist, Christopher Paluso, and signed by Cab Calloway in pencil. Beautifully framed and matted, this exquisite piece measures approximately 17.5" x 21.5".
