Author and social historian Lerone Bennett Jr. published his biography of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "What Manner of Man", in 1964. Bennett had been a student at Morehouse College in Atlanta with Dr. King. King went onto inscribe on the front free endpaper in blue ink, "Best Wishes, Martin Luther King. This first edition hardcover is illustrated with photographs throughout and remains intact with the publisher's cloth binding with stamped decoration on the front cover and stamped titles on the spine. The cover has general handling wear and toning, as well as some tape residue from something being affixed to the front temporarily. The inside is also toned due to age and the pages with King's autograph and opposite of the autograph show tape residue and paper loss, evidence of a photograph or something of the like also having been previously affixed. Overall in fine condition with a beautiful flourishing autograph from Dr. King. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
