On July 20, 1969, the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union would reach its peak when Neil Armstrong and the crew of Apollo 11 would land on the moon, becoming the first humans to do so. As previously this had been thought to be outside the realm of possibility by most of the world, this step in history changed many people's concept of what was possible to achieve. The story of Apollo 11 is told in this December 1969 issue of National Geographic Magazine, which has been signed by Neil Armstrong on an inside page above the photograph of the U.S. flag that he posted on the moon's surface. The black felt tip autograph displays beautifully and stands out boldly. The magazine is well-preserved and overall in fine condition, with some wear to the spine. A unique Apollo 11 collectible can be had here, as this is the first of its kind we have seen signed. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
