This letter, dated May 15, 1896, is on New York Police Department letterhead from Roosevelt's time as President of NYC Board of Police Commissioners. It is written to a Mrs. Trautman. There are several horizontal folds, evidence of bleeding to the ink from being folded over, and some separation to the paper at the edges of the creases. Overall in fair condition - however, this is one of the earliest Roosevelt signatures we have ever offered! Authenticated & encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
