The Big East was out of control in the mid-2000's, with power houses on several teams. In 2006, Ray Allen's UConn Huskies took on Allen Iverson's Georgetown Hoyas in the Big East Tournament title game in Madison Square Garden, vying for the #1 seed in the March Madness tournament. The finish was legendary, with Ray Allen missing 14 consecutive shots from the floor over the final 28 minutes of the game. With less than five minutes remaining, UConn had managed to recover from their 74-63 deficit, and with only 30 seconds to go, Allen made the shot to take the lead. Georgetown took possession of the ball, and with a missed basket by Iverson in the final seconds, UConn took their first ever Big East Championship title. It doesn't get much better than that! Offered here is a Rawlings NCAA I/O basketball signed by both of the Allen's in black felt tip marker on the same panel. A seldom seen combination worthy of display in any college basketball fan's home! COA from JSA.
