Before Jackie Robinson could tear up the Big League, he had to do his time in the high school and college ranks. Despite having to break the color barrier in the Major League in 1947, Robinson would be used to being the odd man out at that point. Even as early as on his high school squad, he and his brother would be listed as the only colored players. In many cases, the earlier the signature of a given athlete, the better. Offered here we have a 2" x 5" 1938 signed yearbook photograph by Jackie Robinson as a freshman at Pasadena Junior College, where he excelled in every sport he played, including baseball, football, basketball, track and tennis. He has added an incredible inscription to a teammate with his signature, "To the best second baseman and a swell guy good luck and I hope to see you playing some big league ball soon. Jack Robinson". Pretty high praise coming from someone who we all now know as one of the best second basemen of all time! In overall fine condition. Authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA) with a full Letter of Authenticity.
