Check from the Edison Storage Battery Co. account, dated February 25th, 1921, in the amount of an astonishing $6,095 from the man who is credited with over 1,000 patents to his name. Made out to the Semet Solvay Company, a pioneer in the chemical industry of the United States, a check of such sums is very rare to see from that era. It is likely that Edison made a large purchase from the company for materials needed for any number of his inventions. The check has been signed by Edison with a steel tip pen in black ink and bears normal cancellation stampings. This is the earliest check from Edison we have ever offered! It has been authenticated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) with a full Letter of Authenticity.
