With only a handful of other examples known to surface in the last twenty years, it is safe to assume there are very few of these lying around. This particular sheet music copy of Mrs. Gehrig's tribute to her husband, "I Can't Get to First Base With You", is one of the best known examples to surface with only minor handling wear to the edges of the cover. Lou Gehrig has signed over his right forearm in fountain tip pen, '8' or better. The 1935 song is notably hard to locate even unsigned, let alone autographed by Gehrig, making this item highly desired by a wide range of collectors. A great display piece for a Yankee or Gehrig collector(s). The sheet music is in NM condition and is accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
