In 1950, Marilyn Monroe was not yet established as the sex symbol that she would soon become, and her fame was just beginning. Offered here is a contract from the Screen Actors Guild, dated January 21, 1950, for the amount of $500 to play the part of "Polly" in what was then known as "Dark Challenge", but eventually came to be known as one of her first screen appearances, "The Fireball". On the appropriate line on the reverse bottom, Monroe has signed in black-ink steel tip fountain pen. Later that year, the starlet would sign a seven-year contract with 20th Century Fox, solidifying her future as a Hollywood star. In fine condition, the contract exhibits expected handling wear, with horizontal folds and two small holes near the top from previous residency in a binder. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
