Mark Grace simply stated thought he would end his career as a Cub. Providing his services from 1988-2000 for the Cubbo's. When he was replaced in 2001, Grace fell softly with the Arizona Diamondbacks, a team with talent, but no one would have guessed them to be the squad to knock off the Yankee's dynasty later that year. In what is one of the most memorable World Series in the last 50 years, the Diamondbacks would take on the Yankees following an emotional time for the entire country with 9/11 sadly impacting many New Yorkers. It seemed almost poetic that the power-house Yankees would win the title, if not for the help of Grace, dominate starting pitching & off course a bloop single. Offered here from that historic match-up is this 2001 World Series game used 256B baseball bat by Mark Grace. Weighing in at 30.6 ounces, while measuring 34 inches, this game used lumber displays heavy use and exhibits a slight crack to the upper handle. Several ball & stitch marks can be seen on the front barrel. Rounding off this gamer is the presence of gold ink transfer marks, only seen from World Series issued baseballs. Overall in fine condition with minor handling wear. Authenticated & graded a near-perfect GU 9.5 by PSA/DNA with a full letter of authenticity.
