Summoned from his rural Oklahoma surroundings to succeed Joe DiMaggio in the Big Apple, Mickey Mantle did so with aplomb, setting records for Fall Classic home runs and round-trippers from both sides of the plate. Offered here is a Mitchell & Ness Yankees home jersey signed by Mantle. The apparel is tailored to match the Commerce Comet's 1951 rookie jersey (as evidenced by the American League "GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY" patch on the left sleeve. With the club's traditional blue pinstriped pattern, the flannel garment features the overlapping "NY" logo sewn to the left breast in navy-blue felt characters. Just below the logo, Mantle's blue marker signature trumpets "10" strength and clarity. An incredibly attractive piece. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
