On May 5, 1978, Pete Rose became the 13th player in Major League history to garner his 3,000th career hit. He would be named National League Player of the Month in July of that year, which would also be his final year with the Reds before joining the Phillies in 1979. Collectors, take note - this is the perfect bat to own from the height of Pete Rose's career, the Big Red Machine and 3,000 hit era! Measuring 35 inches and 33.8 oz, this Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger R195 model bat shows outstanding game use with an un-cracked handle and many ball marks and stitch impressions on the barrel. Cleat marks and bat rack streaks are also present. The right barrel has been cleaned with alcohol, which is a well-known Rose characteristic, however a painted image of Rose has also been removed from the front of the barrel. The R195 model was a favorite of Rose's from 1977-1979, ordering 148 bats within those years. His vintage number 14 is present on the knob. Perhaps solidifying the provenance most thoroughly is Pete Rose's blue felt tip signature. This is a great Pete Rose used bat! Accompanied by an LOA from PSA/DNA with the nearly indisputable grade of GU 10!
