Presented here is a rare personal handwritten note from original Pink Floyd co-founding member Syd Barrett. Unsigned note written in black ink reads: “Medieval practices were usually religious and the reigning monarch portrayed in the classical manner of a Roman god is more in evidence in England, following the Renaissance.” In fine condition. Complete with detailed letter from well-respected UK music experts “Tracks,” and a Full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA). The Tracks letter details the source of this rare piece of writing as having originated in a “spiral bound notebook which contains notes in the hand of Syd Barrett…purchased from the Cheffins Fine Art and Antique sale held in November 2006 through which the estate of Syd Barrett…was sold.” Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett was an English musician, composer, singer-songwriter, and painter. Best known as a founder member of the band Pink Floyd. Barrett was the lead singer, guitarist and principal songwriter in its early years and is credited with naming the band. An elusive music autograph, as Barrett retreated from public life in 1972, this desirable piece of penmanship would round out any accomplished Pink Floyd collection.
