Amazing Prince personally owned and 1993 “Pope” rehearsal-worn “Love” symbol pendant necklace, measuring 12.25” in length, with the symbol itself measuring 1.25” x 1.5,” and bearing a 14k mark to tip of symbol. Whilst wearing his very necklace, Prince and first wife Mayte filmed themselves rehearsing the song, “Pope” at his purple and yellow home at 7141 Galpin Blvd. behind Lake Riley. Accompanied by a video of Prince wearing the Love Symbol that began his legal fight with Warner Bros in 1993, a printout of two screenshot images, and an LOA from first wife, Mayte Garcia, which reads, in part: “Prince had this Love Symbol pendant designed in the summer of 1993. He was furious over the legalities with his music and Warner Bros. Records. The new love symbol was self-given by Prince to represent his new legal identity. He wanted not just his fans, but the whole world, to recognize that Warner Bros. was treating him like a slave and he wasn’t going to be quiet. He added his new Love Symbol to everything designed for him…he seldom could be present without wearing one…I certify that his 14k white Love Symbol pendant was worn by Prince both at home as well as on stage and during his tours.” An historic and well-documented piece that quite interestingly and significantly began Prince’s legendary legal fight with Warner Brothers.
