The 1956 World Series was business as usual for the New York Yankees as they, once again, knocked off the first-time defending champion Brooklyn Dodgers. However, there was one glaring difference about this 7th "Subway Series," as Yankees hurler Don Larsen made history in Game 5 throwing a perfect game against the Dodgers, the only perfect game in the history of the World Series and, until 2010, the only no-hitter in postseason history. Down in the series 3-1, manager Casey Stengel put his hopes in Larsen (who went 11-5 with a 3.26 ERA in the regular season) in that fateful game, sending him to the mound to face the Dodgers' Sal Maglie, who had already defeated Yankees ace Whitey Ford in Game 1. Few could have predicted what was to come, however, as Larsen - a mediocre pitcher at best, with a 30-40 record to that point - threw the unprecedented perfect game. His historic performance remains to this day one of the most memorable moments in baseball history. Offered here is a complete 1956 World Series Game 5 ticket, fully intact and unused! The ticket has been well-preserved, with one vertical crease and some handling wear to the edges. In overall fine condition. While stubs from this game appear once in a while, this is the first COMPLETE ticket we have ever seen hit the market. Don't miss this opportunity! Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA.
