Here is an exceedingly rare set list for an early Red Hot Chili Peppers performance from October 1985, handwritten in black felt tip by Anthony Kiedis on the reverse of a light green 8.5 x 11 flyer advertising a ‘Ghoul A’ Go-Go’ show in Dayton, Ohio, on October 31, 1985. The set list is signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint by the Chili Peppers: “Mike, w/out you I’d be nothing, Anthony,” “Mike – That’s my real name – Flea,” who draws a sketch of his own gap-toothed smile, “Mike – Peace, love, and Latinas – Hillel Slovak,” and “Mike, Hit it to hell in a Volkswagon and fingerfuck yo mama, Cliff.” In fine condition, with a strip of duct tape to bottom edge.

Given the timing and proximity to the Halloween event as advertised on the flyer, the Chili Peppers show likely occurred three days prior on October 28, 1985 at Peabody’s Down Under Club in Cleveland, Ohio. This was during the 1985 Freaky Styley Infinity Tour. The setlist is comprised of 13 songs, seven from their 1984 self-titled debut album and six from their August 1985 sophomore follow-up, Freaky Styley, released just weeks before this performance. Cliff Martinez would exit the band shortly after this tour, and Hillel Slovak would tragically succumb to heroin addiction on June 25, 1988. It is incredibly rare to find any signed RHCP material with this early and short-lived lineup – much less on a stage-used set list penned by Anthony Kiedis.

Comes with a full letter of authenticity from music autograph authority Roger Epperson/REAL Authentication.
