Once a Showboat, not because of his style of play, but of his rare origins from the USFL where Reggie White began his professional career in 1984. Despite his gaudy numbers in the USFL, he was looked at as an unproven commodity when the Philadelphia Eagles took a risk on him with a four year 1.85 million dollar deal following the collapse of the USFL. Reggie would have to wait 13 years until he would reach footballs finest stage, the Super Bowl, when the Packers defeated the Panthers on January 12th, 1997 to send the Pack to the Super Bowl in New Orleans. A historic game for the Packers, sending them to the title for the first time since 1967, ending the notion of the Packers being what was considered a laughable franchise at that time with 1 division title from 1968-1994. Helping to power the Pack to that historic victory were these size 14 NIKE Reggie White game worn cleats with EXACT photo-match evidence! The Minister of Defense can be seen hurdling an attempted block in the relatively clean white Nikes. Linking these exact cleats would be Getty Image #80794761 where the number "92" can be seen hand written in black felt tip marker in exact placement of the provided offering. With not much of Reggie's material able to be photo-matched or linked to games due to lack of film, these cleats may stand as the finest photo-matched worn offerings to ever hit the auction block from the Hall of Famer. Overall in fine condition with one game use, one cleat without laces. Authenticated with an exact photo-match along with a full letter of authenticity from the White family as the cleats where originally part of his estate, and for good reason!
