On July 24, 1970, the Pittsburgh Pirates would honor their superstar in the brand-new Three Rivers Stadium with his very own "Roberto Clemente Night". Several Puerto Rican fans traveled to Pittsburgh and cheered Clemente while wearing traditional Puerto Rican attire. During the ceremony, Clemente received a scroll with 300,000 signatures compiled in Puerto Rico, and it was announced that several thousands of dollars were donated to charity work following Clemente's request. There was a life-size wax figure of Clemente on the field. In 1973, after Clemente's tragic death, an exact replica of the figure was donate to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Offered here is an 8.25" x 10" program from the famed Roberto Clemente Night, signed on the front cover by Cltemente himself along with a "Carinosamente" ("Affectionately") inscription. The program exhibits light handling wear and toning, with a very bold black ballpoint autograph. Overall, the colors and integrity of the program and signature are beautiful. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
