Roger Maris is to this day considered by many the real single season home run king, lighting up the baseball World in 1961 by hitting "61 in 61", eclipsing Mantle & The Babe in the process - and only having been overtaken himself by those in the "steroid era". Despite the fame of becoming the single season home run king, Maris would often step away from the limelight, including when he would sign many baseballs. Maris single signed baseballs are among the most desirable of all non-Hall of Fame signatures, but especially those examples where he graced a sacred Official American League creamy vintage sphere. This Joe Cronin baseball has been signed on the side panel by Maris in black ballpoint. In fine condition with some toning and scattered scuffing/handling wear. Full letter of authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
