To this day, Roger Maris is considered by many the real single season home run king, lighting up the baseball world in 1961 by hitting "'61 in '61", eclipsing both The Mick & The Babe in the process. Despite this fame, Maris would often step away from the limelight, including when he would sign many baseballs. Because of this, Maris single signed baseballs are among the most desirable of all non-Hall of Fame signatures, but especially those examples where he graced the sacred sweet spot. Due to his humility, he would often opt to sign on side panels to leave room for his contemporary, Mickey Mantle. Not so on this stunning sphere! Offered here is an elusive sweet spot signed Official American League (Cronin) vintage baseball, graced with the blue ballpoint signature of '61 in '61 legend, Roger Maris. Overall in fine condition with an appealing even hue of toning around the ball. The ball and autograph combined earned the tough grade of NM-MT 8 from the experts at PSA/DNA - simply unheard-of for a Maris single-signed ball. Incredible! Accompanied by a full Letter of Grading & Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
