One of the greatest pitchers in Negro League history, Paige later became the first black pitcher in the American League and helped lead the Cleveland Indians to the 1948 World Championship. It wouldn't be until 1953 that Topps released a card on Paige, despite his tremendous success. Offered here is a rare original #220 Topps 1953 Satchel Paige rookie card signed by the hurler in bold ink. Overall in fine condition with handling wear. Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
