1963 would be a crucial transitional year for the boys from Liverpool. With The Beatles gaining momentum in the U.K., Brian Epstein would sign the band up for the largest gig to date, a sixteen-day tour around England with one of the largest stars at that time, Roy Orbison. To put into context how important this tour was for The Beatles, Orbison would actually start out as the headline act, but due to overwhelming demand for the audience, The Beatles would finish the tour as the lead act. For many in the U.K., this would be the first time they paid any attention to the band that quickly became a national phenomenon by year's end, largely due to the Orbison tour. Just weeks following that historic tour The Beatles would have their own show promptly named "The Beatles Show," featuring many guest.
