A 2017 feature article in "Acoustic Guitar" magazine gave a spot-on summary as to Garcia's unplugged legacy: "The lengthy, imaginative improvised excursions that Jerry Garcia called forth on his electric guitar inspired legions of devoted fans to hit the road with the Grateful Dead during the band’s heyday. While dissertations could be written on this work, Garcia’s acoustic side warrants equal consideration. A highly personal take on all sounds Americana, Garcia’s acoustic guitar can be heard on Grateful Dead songs like 'Uncle John’s Band' and 'Ripple' as well as in Garcia’s music outside the Dead with musicians like the mandolin virtuoso David Grisman." Offered here is the first ever acoustic guitar signed by Jerry Garcia to hit the market, a beautiful hollow-bodied Fender acoustic. Its large, radiant turquoise signature contrasts beautifully with the guitar body's golden hue. In good condition with light wear to the latter half of "Jerry" in Garcia's signature. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
