When you talk about the roots of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, it all started at Fairfax High School in California with four friends, singer Anthony Kiedis, guitarist Hillel Slovak, bassist Flea, and drummer Jack Irons. The early names for the band included Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem, and it took about as long for the name to form as the band did to get a record deal just one year following their creation. The quick fame would be to much for some of the members with Kiedis and Slovak dealing with debilitating heroin addictions. This incredibly turbulent time saw great success that came to a near halt in 1988 when founding member Hillel Slovak passed away due to heroin overdose during the oddly named "Uplift tour". EMI would do everything it could to promote the So-Cal band, including a 1986 photo-shoot which lead to our next offering. This black & white c. 1986 EMI America 8" x 10" promotional photograph has been signed & inscribed to a lucky "Patty" who met the up-and-coming band. Signatures & inscriptions read in full, "Patty, Don't Be A Fatty, Luv, Cliff Martinez", "Patty, Stay Wet, Love Flea" , "Patty, Do It Till You Drop In The Slop, Hillel Slovak" & Anthony Kiedis who sketches abs onto his image. Overall in fine condition with scattered surface impressions, minor creasing to the top left & handling wear to the edges. An incredible item that cannot be overlooked by any RHCP fan! Amazing! Authenticated by Beckett/BAS with a full letter of authenticity.
